TV Gets Good...

... Again

Since the departure of WaG (Will and Grace), I never had the chance to follow and worship a new television series... Surprising to know that the average US television viewers during that time, decreased as well (not totally due to WaG). On the brighter side, some stayed but shifted to the rising trend of reality TV shows.

Its been a while since I maximized the use of my internet connection. I kept on downloading movies and albums all the time while YouTube has been a great haven whenever the need arises for entertaining video clips. It as led me to the rediscovery of downloading television series right on schedule - the dawn of new US Fall TV Shows.

NBC GETS TUBED

You guys obviously notice that NBC has dominated the thumbnails of YouTube pages (good strategy). Just last week, an NBC television series entitled Heroes was featured... and it was damn good.

I quickly searched for information regarding the series which led me to another discovery... the critically raved series, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Friday Night Lights (all from 4th placer, NBC. Conan loves doing 4th.)

HEROES

This is my taste of TV. Extraordinary powers as usual, but better. It's oh so sweet.

Flight. Rapid Cellular Regeneration. Phasing. Telepathy. Chronokinesis. Teleportation. Precognition. 'Doppelganger'.

To prove its worthiness, the writing and production is a collaboration between Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. (Loeb is with Marvel Comics; Sale with DC)

SUSHI SEMINAR

To be able to fulfill my graduation requirements, I had to attend this PRE-OJT seminar. To prepare myself for work... hehe. Yeah.

Waking up early is the hardest thing to do - next to accounting. I had to arrive school before 8:30 AM kaya ilang beses kong inuulit to habang ginigising ko sarili ko: "Kailangan mong mag-graduate!" (LATE=NO GRAD).

The entire seminar lasted for a day! (Langya! Tapos puro personality/skills/job test ginagawa. May skit pa kaming ginawa about work ethics! Hahah!) Lucky enough we had a 2-hour break. So my friend, Violet and I decided to have lunch sa Makati. (Edi syempre sinundan ko kaagad ng kwento dun sa 'sunog taxi'.. fresh pa eh. Hehe)

I introduced her sa isang sushi bar na palagi kong kinukwento sa mga nakakaalam. Hehe. OKAME is da shit! It's an authentic Japanese grocery tapos may sushi bar sa loob. Sa Park Square 2 lang yun. Naka 600 lang kaming dalawa sa sushi. Sobrang sulit!

Ang Sumabog na Taxi

Papunta kaming Glorietta nun. Tatlo kami sa likod ng taxi. Pinaguusapan namin ang kagandahan ng Makati as a working district... Tahimik...

"Sunog! Baba!", sigaw ng driver ng taxi.

Mabilis kaming bumaba ng taxi sa kalagitnaan ng Ayala Ave. Hamak mo yun! Pinalabas kami ng mabilisan sa harap ng mga tao (at nagsisilawang headlights) sa gitna pa ng highway! Sinita nga kami ng pulis eh. Hahah...

"Mabuti nang sigurado!", sabi ng driver.

Pero kami naman problemado...

Buti narin at nakarating naman kami sa Glorietta. Nakapanood ng movie at maglaro sa Timezone. Panalo ang dance mania! Perstaym!

Takeshi's Back!

US Vista

With more than a week of testing Vista, I can guarantee you a better Windows environment!

Here are just some of the top reasons why I'm glad:

1) Flickers on your screen is fixed! This usually happens to some video cards on winxp.
2) When your application starts to not respond, as you close the window, you still have an option to either wait, restart the program or safely close it.
3) Start menu, search option (just type your app and enter)
4) Manageable directory when you're saving from the internet (baka mag-reorganize kayo ulit nito)
5) When a hardware fails (especially your video card), it automatically restarts (ayows diba?)
6) Inuulit ko, inayos talaga nila ang interface. Hehehe. Lumuwag ang screen.
7) Ang famous loading bar (for every long read) ng Mac ay nasa pc narin. Ibang position nga lang.

Bigyan nyo lang ako ng blank DVD nang ma-try din ninyo! =)

FINALLY! After months of waiting (and delay due to thesis), I got the chance to install the latest evaluation release of Windows Vista! Natakot akong i-install nun baka biglan mag-crash computer ko at ulitin ang thesis ko. Wehehehe!

Vista is nice! It almost works like mac! Kahit hindi ko pa napro-prove yung crash part, hehe, pero astig ang interface! And it's not just the visuals alone, its the entire package. Very involved ang internet at yung system. Yehessssssssssssssssssssss...

kung gusto nyo kopya, bigyan nyo lang ako blank dvd hehe
bawal daw kasi ipamigay ng basta basta. haha

Ibang iba pala talaga ang totoong mundo sa labas ng school. Although hindi pa ako grad, I've done freelance work. Kapag may ginawa ka na, hindi mo na maibabago 'yun kahit magpalusot ka pa. May deadline ka in 24 hours, tinantya mo nang hindi siya matatapos. Susuko ka nalang ba?

May naalala kang pupuntahan pero at the same time, may isa ka pang pupuntahan na hindi mo pa napupuntahan. Pupuntahan mo pa ba yung dapat mong unang puntahan?

Hinahanap mo ulit yung hinanap mo dati pero nung hinahanap mo na, nalamang mong nahanap mo na pala.

Sabi niya, sabihin ko daw sa kanya pero hindi ko nasabi nung kinailangang kong sabihin. Sasabihin mo pa ba?

Blindness Within at the ASEAN!

I believe in graces, miracles and good fortune from hard work...

Blindness Within will be screened in the ASEAN Film Festival (August 10-13) at the Podium! The video will be shown together with my friend's work (Emerson Reyes' Ang Sikolohikal na Armas ni Juan de la Cruz) and other films from various ASEAN countries! Although the opening night program (7-9 PM) is by invitation only, the succeeding screenings will be free of charge.

HELPING YOURSELF

Getting myself reminded about important matters (meetings, deadlines, inspirations,gimmicks) is a dilemma. Memory loss? Nah... batang Sustagen yata 'to..hehehe... but missing those important details that I noted during the day confuses me...big time.

I really have the knack of letting people remind me. Laziness is not the issue here my friends..hehehe

Now, I am helping myself get reminded... hopefully, it'll help.

Solution #1: Resurrect the classic organizer. I bought an organizer during my frosh year which I only used for a few months...but I'm bringing it back (kung kelan patapos na school..amp!) Nothing beats a manual organizer... mas personal..

Solution #2: POST-ITS Application. I used it before but it clogged up my entire desktop with notes! But it's verrrrry useful and neat! 'Wag lang mag-crash comp mo. Download a copy of it! 3m Post-it Software Notes

Solution #3: Texting myself... but not sending it. My cellphone's memory is filled up with text messages containing notes! May habit narin na hindi tayo kailangan i-remind na dalhin ang cellphone natin. I've been doing this texting solution for years! But still...

...may nalilimutan parin. hahaha!

BALIK-BALIK, PABALIK BALIK

Palagi nalang ako, lagi nalang, balik lagi sa blog...nanaman...
at syempre, wala nanaman akong maipopost na matino. Eto trial... Hahaha!

Sa nakalipas na ... buwan na hindi ako nag-blog, maraming nangyaring kababalaghan. Tama! Kababalaghan nga dahil ninais ko silang mangyari ngunnnnit dumadating nalang na parang stampede...lol... pinag-iiwanan ko na ang academics, mga kaibigan ko at pati narin social life ko... pero nung July (hanggang ngayon), nakipagsapalaran ako sa mga bagay na minsan ko lang napagtuunan ng pansin dati...

Desidido na akong tapusin ang pag-aaral ko kaya ngayon, pinag-tutuunan ko na talaga ng pansin ang thesis/MULTIM/culminating project ko... isa siyang experimental video na pinagbibidahan ni Sue Ong (Yehesss!) :) Salamat sa Panginoon at nakakuha ako ng mataas na marka sa Internal Defense... External Defense nalang ang hinihintay! Nakakatakot! Nakakakaba! Nakakagutom!

I am really not into posting but I do love creating layouts for blogs. I've done alot of websites since high school (mostly fansites). And I am really obsessed creating desktop freebies (wallpapers, cursors, icons, etc.) and giving them out.

I really prefer doing layouts than posting. Hehehe.

I might not post frequently in the next few weeks. But I'll buy a domain (for personal and business matters) and set up a freebie site soon (blogskins,etc.) Heheh.

As I wait for the sun to arrive at Manila, I spent the late night listening to Alanis' great albums and discovered a new favorite: Unprodigal Daughter from the Feast of Scraps album.

Her acoustic commemorative album is best for all-time-die-hard Alanis fans. But practically speaking, there's nothing significantly different except for the fact that it is acoustic.For me, the old JLP album still rocks. :)

This was ought to be posted yesterday, Oct. 4. But since my Mom needs my help, I have to prioritize her. :)

Went home twice. Nakakapagod at nakakatamad pala pumunta pa ng school kapag nakabalik ka na ulit sa bahay. Hehehe. Pero nung umalis ulit ako ng bahay, nakita ko si Mr. Dong Puno pababa ng kanyang kotse. Una kong impression, "Kintab ng buhok!". Hehehe!

Pagkarating ko ng school. Nagulat ako at sunud sunod akong nakakita ng taong naka-blue. Natawa nalang ako. Pagpasok ko ng office, BOOOOOM!! SUMABOG!...

Kabobohan! I never realized that Oct. 1 is Saturday because I was thinking it was just Friday, but today's Oct. 2 na akala ko naman ay Sabado, which leaves me 12 more days before the event =P

Today's discussion was about Myers-Briggs' Personality Type Indicator (personality test). The entire class took the test and my results were:

Introvert, iNtuition, Feeling, Judging = INFJ

I am a foreseer developer.

A Grand Launch

One thing you've got to know about me is that I always insist myself to relate things that are happening around me even if they're totaly different from each other. I always see that they happen in relation to a specific thing/event.

Today was rather unique. A lot of things happened and I point them all towards the grand launch of the second patch of pyrotechnix.

1) Had my second semi-kal haircut. This time its a #1 shave.

TRIVIA: Para po sa mga nagpaplanong magpa-semikal.
May #0,1,2,3 shave.
#0 = buko na magaspang ulo mo! Nyahah! =P
#1 = me tinik tinik buhok mo >.<
#2 - 3 = medyo haba ng onti

2) After the cut, I was planning to buy two new shirts.My mom told me that today's the start of SM Manila's 3-day sale. Ayos! The stars were with me.

3) Buti nalang malapit ang LRT sa SM... The entire central station was filled with waiting passengers. I said to myself, "Nakupo! Paano ako makakasakay nito?"... Biglang may dumating na train, walang laman! (Central Station pa 'to ah) Parang ghost train... Hahah! Pero nakasakay ako, nakaupo pa!

4) I got to reserve all the equipments I need for tomorrow and next week's photo shoot. Ayos! Makakapag-picture na ulit ako!

On AI4's Final-2 episode, I can't help but notice the beautiful song being played in the end while they are showing clips from the entire season. I managed to grab a few words and searched the internet for the song. After finding out the title and the artist, I immediately went to search for the mp3. Took me hours though to actually find it.

The beautiful song was entitled "Keeping the Dream Alive" by Freiheit. To many, they're unfamiliar since they were a one-time hit in 1989 yet this song managed to be a classic and it makes me reach for my dreams regardless of the troubles I have been encountering (hehehe)...

OFFICE EXTENSION

The office was jampacked during the week! We had to relocate for the meantime. Some sat and ate right outside the office (along the corridors and the ramp)

But still, the office is a training ground for those who are willing to learn. And he does want to learn. Philip [left] wants him to be trained but the problem is "Who will train him?"

Thank God for the blessings! My dad bought me a brand new 80gig drive (MORE space na sa wakas! Yahoooo!) plus I also got a new flash drive for presentation and quick storage purposes.

Thanks to Sir Randy, I was allowed to resign as layout editor! (But there's still some office work to do. Jenjen requested me to layout a few pages for the next BLiP issue. And sir wanted me to support the layout section as well. And btw, I'm also planning to contribute some articles.)

Remember my post about first decisions? Well, after thinking too much about leaving the alternative stage to check out the reggae and electronica stage, I stayed by my first decision not to leave (Buti nalang! Bigla kasi akong naubusan ng load! Hahah. Kaya hinintay ko nalang sila sa tent - na nakaupo malapit sa stage at nag-eenjoy sa mga banda with Meggee.)

But I get to gather information from people about the situation in other stages since I am planning to write an article. I may have failed to witness Reggae Mistress, Rubber Inc and Silverfilter. But there's always next year. Astig malaman na PINOY lahat ng nagperform. MABUHAY ANG MUSIKANG PILIPINO!

You might be having trouble with this but everyone has the skills a good manager especially if you get to handle these people, whom you have been really close to, pretty well:

1) Your friends when you were still in grade school plus a chance of having them your friends high school. (In my case, I have two groups, since I was a transferee)

2) Your kababata. Practically, your neighbors whom you have learned the kalye games with during your young, innocent life.

3) "Take a good look at the person beside you for they will be your only friends for the next four years." - Not Another Teen Movie . Your friends in high school.

That clearly includes:
      a) Close barkada *priority
      b) Classmates (1st,2nd,3rd & 4th year)
      c) Club mates

As I have mentioned before, decisions give me that guilty feeling. My "first decisions" are always the right one ...when you get know the results in the end... but whenever I'm about to tell it, I tend to mention the other one for reasons that I suddenly become pessimistic of what's going to happen!

Darn it! I've got to learn that lesson! Tsk tsk.

I knew I'll wake up late.

[I realized that putting up a poll in my blog is pointless if I can't think of any good topic. So, I'll just wait until my next photo project to be ready for voting. For the meantime, the pointless topic stays there. Plus I just thought of more stuff to add tomorrow.]

While getting ready for school, I remembered I need to free up more disk space (mag sunog pa ng mga CD) to give way for more downloads (Amp! 3gigs nalang ako! Waaaa).

I really need a lot of space not just for my downloads but my projects as well. I have a CD copy and a disk copy of my works for portfolio. A major project will take up hundreds of megs since you need to have the uncompressed copy, raw files and studies. Hassle no?

Just before I left for school, I had a talk with my worried parents about myself getting late for school, failing thesis and working too much. They wanted me to leave the office.

Alam nilang gustong gusto ko ginagawa ko. But they don't want me getting tired with school stuff and publication work.

Got to school. Newspaper work. Hindi nakapag foodreq dahil sarado na ang caf kaya maraming salamat kay Philip!!!

Nakauwi na. Need to set my sched for the week kasama pati mga i-ddload ko. Wahehe! Pero eto na kailangan sa Monday...

Learning to stand by my decisions

For every decision, I always have the guilt of not choosing the other one ("It's tough and confusing being a Libra" - Tanya's Mom). For example, when I decided to stay as *** instead of ***, I discovered that I can't handle it. Now I'm having a hard time with *** because I have to *** at the ***.

Arrived school early. Catched up with the readings in class...and remembered that today is the victory party for the grand launch and exhibit of the student publications office.

Copies of the 5 publications that needs to be delivered to Akic. Pero wala yung shuttle na maghahatid samin kaya binalik ulit.

It's very hard to think for yourself when you care so much for others.

This happens when things such as responsibility, friendship and generosity comes into your mind. I want to work for the Benildean but still I need to study, work on projects and graduate.

Helping others is my joy in life (and I'm glad you appreciate it. Tenks! Ahehe) yet I can't even help myself.So, derecho lang ako. Basta wag lang liliko..kaya...... gusto kong matutong mag-draaaaaaayb (kahit na wala akong kotseee) *Overdrive : E-heads* [Layoo..hehehehe]

Mamayang hapon na exhibit! Meron pakong d natatapos gawin. Kaya gigising nnaman ako ng maaga para pumuntang school at ayusin un (bagong design ng application form).

Hassle din kahapon daming ginawa. Deadlines were set for the newspaper templates. Pati nag voice recording pa kami para sa isang subject namin. Hindi ako nakapasok sa 4:20-5:50 class ko pero ang masaya dun, pumirma ako sa attendance nung dismissal. Nyahah!

I have problems with school (academic) stuff.

For the past months, I'm very attached working with the school publication. Thus when I have the time doing assignments/projects, I get bored (or maybe I'm graduating soon.)

- I failed to attend to one of my major classes yesterday because I did not do my Instructional CD proposals.

- I get this feeling that every assignment my professors give to me is difficult (Which is bad..stooopid bad. That's why I get bored doing it.)

- I am usually late. (What's new?)

I never registered at friendster until I reached 3rd yr where almost everyone has an account. Tulad ngayon, sa tinagal narin na may blogs mga kaibigan ko, ngayon lang din ako nakapag-register. Ahehe.

I expect a lot from this blog. Kaya sana mapapaganda ko pa mga laman nito. Dito ko ilalagay mga pinaggagawa ko palagi habang wala pa akong portfolio. At since hindi na ako adek sa Ragnarok (no gaming for three months na! woohoo!), masaya ako dahil marami na akong nagagawa sa bahay at sa school.

I became busy with the school publication. Almost 1 year na akong layout editor ng The Benildean and I've done alot (magazines and newspapers). Laking gaan sa ojt at portfolio. Gusto ko ng matinong bakasyooooooon!!!

I intend to finish my studies by December tas March na ako march. Ahehe.
